Who our project partners are and what they do.
We are pleased to be working in partnership with various community groups, organisations, educational establishments and libraries across Yorkshire, Glasgow and Tyne & Wear. Some of our project partners are listed below. The project has also been working closely with published writers, authors, actors and playwrights, whose details can be found on our Storying Workshops page.
AMINA
Helpline provides a listening ear for women across Scotland on a number of different issues including housing rights, money advice, domestic abuse, and reporting of racial incidents. The helpline also supports culturally specific or religious support for women and is based in Scotland.
Longley Park Sixth Form College
Based in the north-east of 91Ö±²¥, the college specialises in courses for 16-18-year-olds and offers a range of A Level and BTECH extended diploma courses. The project has worked closely with in hosting creative writing drop-in workshops.
Glasgow Women's Library
The supports thousands of women across Scotland through their various programmes and initiatives. It aims to empower women and has grown from a small grassroots project into an information hub by, for and about women. The Storying Relationships project worked closely with the Women's Library to host creative writing workshops that included a series of workshops on fiction writing, playwriting and blogging.
Empowering Minds
is a consultancy established by Sofia Mahmood in 2015. Sofia Mahmood had worked in the third sector covering education, youth, local and national authority and government bodies for over 15 years.
The Storying Relationships project has worked in partnership with Empowering Minds consultant, Mohammed Sheraz facilitating screenwriting and film workshops for young Pakistani Muslim men aged 16-30 years in Rochdale.
Apna Haq
is a Black Minority Ethnic Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) Resource Centre.
Apna Haq provides free and confidential information, advice and support to BME women and girls affected by domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse. Apna Haq also offers early intervention and prevention work to women and girls on VAWG issues. It provides information on a wide range of issues and can link women and girls to other appropriate services regarding housing, refuge accommodation, personal safety, specialist counselling, police, welfare, child-related concerns, specialist solicitors, school and education and health.
