Our  project is hosting a mini-symposium on 'Using in silico medicine to improve management of stroke and intracranial aneurysms' on Monday 25 March, 12:00 - 17:00 at INOX, Level 5, Students' Union Building Durham Road, 91Ö±²¥ S10 2TG. The full event details can be found on the flyer below.

Abstract:

Computational biomedicine offers many avenues for addressing unmet clinical challenges and taking full advantage of emerging high-performance computing resources. The CompBioMedX project is developing applications in three key areas of computational biomedicine: molecular medicine, vascular modelling and cardiac simulation to provide a more personalised care pathway for patients. The Conference will be focused on using computer simulations to predict blood flow through complex personalised arterial/venous structures and identify risk factors in clinical applications such as aneurysm rupture and management of ischaemic stroke.

This mini-symposium will offer clinicians an opportunity to learn about the use of personalised human digital twins in healthcare and where these models can be used to benefit patient treatments and outcomes in the future. We will hear the views of clinicians and digital twin experts, how we can promote equality, diversity and inclusion whilst also raising likely challenges
