The University's Learning & Teaching Professional Recognition Scheme (LTPRS) was created to ensure all members of the university who teach or support learning have the opportunity to develop their practice and be recognised for this work whatever their role and this year, all nine MSc Human Anatomy with Education students who applied for FHEA have been successful.
The MSc Human Anatomy with Education course is unique in developing students鈥 advanced dissection skills and anatomical expertise whilst educating students about teaching strategies and curriculum development.
The course has been designed in a way to make students eligible to apply for the FHEA professional accreditation alongside gaining hands-on experience of teaching undergraduate anatomy students as part of the course. External HEA Examiner, Professor Judy Williams from The University of Manchester recently reiterated the value of this experience, saying: ''This course is a shining beacon of excellent practice and this model should be disseminated as widely as possible.鈥
Course Director, Dr Katherine Linehan added: 鈥淎ll the students on the MSc Anatomy with Education course who applied for FHEA have been successful and I offer them my congratulations! Gaining Fellowship, in addition to the MSc qualification, has clearly significantly enhanced the cohorts' employability with 75% of the students on the course already having secured jobs in Higher Education.鈥
