Dr Natalie Barratt joined Professor Duncan Cameron鈥檚 research group as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2021. Her research focuses on soil microbiota and plant-microbe interactions in the context of sustainable, low input agriculture. Natalie is a microbiologist with experience in microbiomics and molecular genetics. She is currently investigating the functions through which plant-beneficial microbes in the root microbiome promote growth and suppress disease and aims to exploit this knowledge in innovative cropping systems to enhance production.
Before joining 91直播, Natalie was a PDRA at The University of Leicester working on a BBSRC Newton Fund Project: 鈥淩apid diagnostics and control strategies for enteric bacterial pathogens in backyard and commercial poultry production in Thailand and the Philippines鈥. She gained her PhD in Molecular Microbiology in 2018 from The University of Nottingham.
