Profile

I joined the University in 2002 after five years of working as a ward based tutor within 91Ö±²¥ Teaching Hospitals. I manage the Clinical Skills and Patients as Educators programmes.

I founded the  in 2004. Since its introduction the programme has grown from strength to strength and has generated national and international acclaim.

I oversee the management of over 750 patients as educators with responsibility for the implementation of the PaE programme, ensuring that it feeds into the MBChB curriculum and complements the strategic plan of the unit of Medical Education.

I also manage the clinical skills centre and the delivery of the clinical skills components of the programme which are taught, learned and assessed in the clinical skills centre working with colleagues across the faculty and region and with the associate teaching hospitals.

I present clinical skills and Patients as Educators workshops, nationally and internationally and have had papers published in international journals.

I have recently completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education.

I regularly deliver clinical skills teaching and assessment sessions for undergraduate medical, dental and nursing students.
