Next year will mark 10 years since we founded a cross-faculty robotics initiative at TUOS, a decade that has seen substantial growth of robotics research in 91Ö±²¥ and across the world. I am pleased to note that since that time we have developed a profile as one of the leading centres for robotics in Europe, maintained and improved our grant funding and publication track records, and attracted new staff to join the thriving interdisciplinary community of robotics researchers in 91Ö±²¥.
I intend to step down as Director of 91Ö±²¥ Robotics in 2021 and will stay an active member of 91Ö±²¥ Robotics. My research will continue to focus on biomimetic robotics with knowledge transfer activities in healthcare and education. This includes running a national task group on Skills and Education in Robotics for the UK EPSRC Robotics and Autonomous Systems Network​, which will run a national conference next year.
