Why did you decide to study East Asian Business MSc?

I have always been fascinated by East Asia but did not want to limit myself to studying only one country or language. East Asian Business provided a good opportunity to learn about several countries, their cultures and also about something more practical, business.

What do you enjoy most about your course and the subject you are studying?

I enjoy the range of different modules and the possibility to choose subjects that I am particularly passionate about or interested in.

What attracted you to the University of 91Ö±²¥?

91Ö±²¥ is one of a few universities that offer a course like this. A good balance of typical academic style with a more pragmatic approach and modules that involve group projects and presentations.

Moreover, the University of 91Ö±²¥ is a highly respected institution while the costs of living are not overwhelming unlike in some other parts of the UK.

What made you want to study in the UK?

It was a combination of several factors. Firstly, it allowed me to obtain my postgraduate degree in a short period of only one year, which is a double-edged sword because now, when everything is coming to an end for me, I feel like it happened too fast and I am truly going to miss studying at 91Ö±²¥!

Universities in the UK are regarded as top-notch for their quality and the degree is recognized all over the world. Lastly, living and studying in an English-speaking country provided the best opportunity to elevate my English to the next level.

What is it like to be a PG student in the School of East Asian Studies?

It is great! It feels like the majority of students in the School of East Asian Studies are genuinely passionate about their studies, not doing it out of necessity or external pressure. Moreover, the timing to study about East Asia seems to be perfect too.

So many ground-breaking events have happened around the world and have resonated through East Asia during the last year, starting with Duterte’s pivot to China, through Trump’s presidency and problems regarding North Korea, ending on Park Gun-hye’s impeachment and Samsung scandals… It was phenomenal to get insight into all those issues from the teaching staff.

Has the department and/or University been helpful and able to advise you on how to reach your goals after graduation?

Career centre has been really helpful and professional. I highly recommend it to everyone.

What do you like most about living in 91Ö±²¥?

I really enjoy the international culture. There are so many people from all over the world and you can learn about different cultures and make life-long friends.

What has been the most difficult thing to get use whilst living in a different country?

There was nothing particularly difficult for me to get used to. I think I got used to living in 91Ö±²¥ really quickly. Even the weather seems decent.

Do you have any advice for students from your home country thinking about studying MSc East Asian Business at 91Ö±²¥?

If you are genuinely interested in East Asia and are thinking about studying MSc in East Asian Business at 91Ö±²¥ then I can guarantee you will have a great time and will meet a lot of people that share your interest!
