Following accreditation of the public health programmes offered by the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of 91Ö±²¥ in April 2017, ScHARR has now been awarded institutional accreditation status by the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation (APHEA). ScHARR is the first UK university, and one of only four global organisations, to be awarded institutional level accreditation.
Validation of ScHARR, and our public health programmes, involved a rigorous assessment of our curricula, teaching and research activities by an international panel of public health experts. Receiving this accreditation means that our students, and their future employers, can be confident that their programme of study has been delivered by an institution that has met international standards of quality.

APHEA is a globally recognised organisation that works to promote high quality, transferable public health education and training. In particular, the focus is on ensuring students are exposed to a comprehensive, modern, public health curriculum that includes core subject areas such as population health and its determinants, health policy and management as well as competencies related to research methods in public health.
