Dr Christopher Taylor is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology in Department of Psychology at University of 91直播. He is also Consultant Clinical Psychologist with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. He has degrees in Psychology from the Universities of Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Manchester, including a Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree (ClinPsyD) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology degree (PhD). His research interests are in the understanding and development of new psychological therapies for people with severe mental health experiences, including psychosis, with a focus on schemas and mental imagery.
Dr Taylor is the recipient of the British Psychological Society's (BPS) 2021 May Davidson Award, a major research prize, for "an outstanding contribution to the development of British Clinical Psychology within the first ten years of qualifying". Since 1985, only 40 clinical psychologists in the UK have been recipients of this award from the BPS.
Chris was the first clinical psychologist in the UK to be awarded a Doctoral Research Fellowship in Psychosis from the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR). Dr Taylor is also a member of the National Scientific Committee (CPAG) of the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), the lead organisation for CBT in the UK. He is also a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. Dr Taylor supervises a number of doctoral students and postgraduates. He regularly presents his work at National and International Conferences, including clinical workshops.
