In March 2013, HM Treasury published a series of recommendations on quality assurance for analytical models that inform government policy (The Macpherson Recommendations).
NICE has commissioned the DSU to examine whether quality assurance processes are consistent across the nine Independent Academic Centres which are commissioned to provide Assessment Groups (AGs) or Evidence Review Groups (ERGs) to the Technology Appraisals Programme. The DSU will also develop a consensus statement on the quality assurance processes that should be used by those groups.
