Emily Howard Cobley has performed roles such as Schwertleite in Die Walküre (The Metropolitan Opera) Azucena in Il Trovatore and Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Tood (New Jersey State Repertory Opera) and has sung solo works in venues such as New York City Center and Carnegie Hall, New York. A frequent interpreter of new music, she most recently she sang the American premiere of Kevin Malone’s A Clockwork Operetta for the PEN World Voices Literary Festival, with members of the Kronos Quartet.
She holds a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University, Bloomington. She has been teaching voice and stage performance techniques for the last fifteen years. Some of her students have gone on to perform in major opera companies and on Broadway stages.
