Psychological effects of mesothelioma

Our PhD student Virginia Sherborne has published an article on the psychological effects of mesothelioma on patients and their carers.

Published in the journal Psycho-Oncology, Virginia's article is a scoping review exploring published evidence on the Though limited, the evidence indicates that mesothelioma, with its high symptom鈥恇urden, incurability, rarity and asbestos鈥恟elated causation, leads to complex and inter鈥恟elating psychological effects on patients and carers.

The sparse literature gives a partial picture and demonstrates an urgent need for more nuanced research. Studies exploring the experiences of specific groups are recommended, with particular attention required to carers.
