My research focuses on studying light-matter interactions in semiconductor nanostructures at the single particle level. A particular focus is using these interactions to generate quantum states of light, supporting the development of optical quantum technologies such as secure communications, enhanced imaging and sensing and photonic quantum computing.
Key to these goals is understanding and controlling the interactions between the microscopic quantum system and the macroscopic semiconductor environment. By understanding these interactions, we can access new quantum states with greater efficiencies and fidelities, whilst also significantly increasing the operating temperature of the devices.
