5 migration books on the table

Presentation of the new MRG Book Series

The New MRG Blog Series will bring critical book reviews written by my students in the module POL244: Migration and World Politics at the Department of Politics and International Relations at the end of the Spring 2024 semester. As part of their assessment, students selected different academic and non-academic books that discuss the topics of migration, borders, mobility and citizenship. They had to connect the books with our discussions and readings in the module. Writing a critical book review allows students to develop essential skills such as the capacity to find, summarise and explain information (research skills), the ability to connect and explain different pieces of information (problem-solving), and the skills to critically evaluate a book in a fair way (critical thinking).

The students did a great job and their book reviews allow us to learn about migration in different ways

We will publish a different book review signed by one student weekly for the next two months. We hope you enjoy the reading.
