What's your career?

I now work in Experian's consumer business where I am leading international growth strategy, execution and scaling in emerging markets across the suite of consumer products.

I started my career in Strategy & Consulting at Accenture where I worked on an array of consulting projects with clients including Sky, Specsavers and Government departments. These projects covered retail experience strategy, operating model strategy, marketing execution and business analysis.

I then transitioned out of Accenture into a Strategy Consultant role at THG Ingenuity. My role covered helping companies expand globally through adopting E-commerce and D2C channels in the FMCG space. I was working with the likes of Coca Cola, Heinz, William Grant and Sons and Hotel Chocolat. Some of the projects included international growth strategy, value proposition design and customer acquisition strategy.

The most important factor for me is being able to have a degree of autonomy in my role.

Working with incredible clients like Coca Cola, Heinz and Sky on impactful work that impacts customers across the globe is a highlight for me. However, the most important factor for me is being able to have a degree of autonomy in my role, so joining Experian as Global Strategy Manager has given me the opportunity to shape the way that we approach international growth strategy. Seeing the impact that this has on our consumer businesses across the globe is a real highlight.

A happy memory of 91Ö±²¥ is spending every minute I could walking around the peaks and enjoying the beautiful countryside (when I wasn’t at pop tarts of course!).

My advice to fellow alumni looking to progress their career would be to be personable and humble. Having a great CV on paper will only get you so far. Being an approachable and friendly person will get you a lot further, ultimately business is about people first.
