Networking success for our MBAs
Earlier in September, we welcomed the Management School's 2022-23 MBA cohort in style with a networking event at the Grade 2 Listed Edwardian Firth Court building in the heart of campus.
Our new MBA candidates had the opportunity to meet some of our recent graduands and senior members of our MBA alumni at our recent networking evening.
After being welcomed to the event by MBA Programme Director Dr Sabrina Thornton and Dean of the School Professor Rachael Finn, our MBA students and alumni heard from the Chair of our Advisory Board and former Chief HR Officer of O2 Telefónica, Ann Pickering. Ann shared some invaluable advice about taking the time to plan how you are going to tell your story - what makes you unique, what you are passionate about - and about the importance of being a compassionate leader.
Our guests then enjoyed drinks and canapés while they grew their network of contacts amongst MBA students, alumni, graduands and academics. We also welcomed a few of our business contacts, including Emma Hibbert, Recruitment Manager at local manufacturing company.
What a resounding success! We would like to say thank you to all of our MBA alumni and graduands for coming along to share your experiences and wisdom with our new cohort of students. It was wonderful to catch up with where your careers are heading, and welcome you back to campus again.
A huge thank you also goes to our Advisory Board Chair, Ann Pickering, the Dean of the Management School, Professor Rachael Finn, and everybody else who helped to organise this fantastic event!
