- Profile
-
I have been involved in research into vibration damping technologies since the early 1990s and have been a member of academic staff since 2004.
I have research projects with many different industries to reduce vibration in machinery through the effective use of passive damping methods. My work in this area includes the experimental characterisation of new concepts, the development of efficient models and the design of improved equipment incorporating damping methods. One output from this research is an anti-vibration void filler that is now used on commercial airliners.
As a member of the academic staff, I teach courses on vibration and design. .
