Join us for an evening of talks, discussion, wine and nibbles to explore the opportunities for open access monograph publishing available with (WRUP), the open access university press for the universities of 91Ö±²¥, Leeds and York.
We’ll hear about experiences of publishing with WRUP from Dr Wendy Michallat (School of Languages and Cultures), the editor and translator of (2018), which was recently published with WRUP. A short talk from the Library’s Open Research Manager, Jenni Adams, will also explore the support available from the University Library in publishing an open access monograph.
The event will culminate in a panel discussion on the value and challenges of open access monographs. Speakers will include Professor John Flint (Deputy Vice-President for Research), Professor Nikki Dibben (Director of Research and Innovation, Faculty of Arts and Humanities), (Chair of the WRUP Editorial Board & HoD for Philosophy, University of York), and Dr Wendy Michallat (School of Languages and Cultures).
This event will be of interest to researchers (staff and PGRs) wishing to learn more about publication options with WRUP, our own University Press, and about open access monographs more broadly. It will also be of interest to research support colleagues, librarians and other professional services staff. Colleagues, students and members of the public from beyond the University of 91Ö±²¥ are also welcome to attend.
