Business Analyst (Information Security)

Off

" I am currently working as a Business Analyst within IT Services and am on secondment within the Information Security department. I started at the University back in January 2020 and have worked within different areas of IT Services, notably Corporate Services and Education.

Previously I worked for an insurance firm near Leeds that dealt in high net worth insurance products. I was attracted to the University because I had heard good things about working there via word of mouth and also came across the Sunday Times rating that had the University as one of the best places to work in the UK for not for profit organisations.

Since being here I have really enjoy the collaborative culture and mindset that is common throughout the University. The fact that there is also a huge plethora of different projects to work on makes things interesting and makes it unlikely for people to stagnate due to the options and opportunities available.

The training and development for me personally in my role has been first class - I've been lucky enough to take advantage of a Masters in Senior Leadership that was funded by the apprenticeship scheme and I’ve been well supported by colleagues and management in making this fit around work priorities and in terms of related work to course programme.

I would definitely recommend the University as a great place to work, it’s an open minded and welcoming place to work with so many opportunities to become involved in and ultimately improve the overall student experience. "
