PhD project

Title: "Predicting, Measuring and Optimizing Technology Start-ups Multiplier Effects on Micro and Small Business Enterprises (MSMEs) using an Agent-Based Modelling"

My research attempts to model the complex interactions between start-ups and MSMEs players; between start-ups and other stakeholders within the ecosystem such as technology provider, investors and regulator; and between the start-ups itself in multiple scenarios. It will then measure the effects of those interactions on MSMEs development over a certain period.

The agent-based model (ABM) of start-ups interaction will simulate quantified impact to the MSMEs particularly the increase of transaction and employment in this sector. The purpose of the model and the simulation is to gain better prediction and measurement of technology start-ups positive impacts on country level economy and to discover the ideal composition percentage of start-ups types that will trigger maximum multiplier effects. This will aid the policy maker in determining ideal strategy for the country’s digital economy advancement.
