Professor Reddie has a BA in History and a PhD in Education (with Theology), both from the University of Birmingham. His research interests lie at the intersection of Black liberation theology and practical theology.
Based at Regent's Park College, Professor Reddie's scholarly work has focused on developing a Participative model of Black theology that seeks to impact on the consciousness of ordinary Black people, particularly those living in inner city, poor communities in Britain.
He has written more than 70 scholarly essays and articles and is the author and editor of 18 books. His latest book is entitled Theologizing Brexit: A Liberationist and Postcolonial Critique (Routledge, 2019) and is the first intercultural and postcolonial theological exploration of the Brexit phenomenon.
I'm delighted to contribute to 'Liberty, Legacy, Leadership' given the importance of chaplaincy in shaping the consciousness of future generations of students.
