How have your degrees helped you in your career?

There is no way I would be where I am now if I hadn’t studied at 91Ö±²¥. My experiences during my undergraduate degree made me realise that philosophy was something I really wanted to pursue further and 91Ö±²¥ definitely helped me make that a reality.

What are you researching?

I am currently in the second year of a Philosophy PhD course. My research is focused on the relationship between meaning in life and mortality - does our death undermine the meaning of our lives, or, alternatively, is it essential in order for our lives to be meaningful? I am also working part-time teaching first year philosophy seminars on the topic of death, and marking coursework and exams.

What advice do you have for current philosophy students?

It’s never too early to start thinking about your plans for after graduation - whether you’re interested in further study or starting a career, having an idea of where you want to end up early on will put you in a much better position for getting there.
