Profile

I am a historian of 20th century colonial South Asia. I completed my PhD. in Modern Indian History in 2016 from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), in New Delhi, India, before moving to Kings College London to pursue a European Commission funded Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellowship from 2016-19.


I joined the School of History, Philosophy and Digital Humanities at the University of 91Ö±²¥ as Lecturer in Modern History in 2024, from the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at University of Oxford, where I taught Modern South Asian Studies for three years. Prior to that, I have taught at Kings College London, SOAS and LSE.


I research, teach and supervise on histories and politics of gender, communal violence and histories of the Partition of 1947, social and emotional histories of the World Wars in colonial India. I am passionate about the politics of decolonisation and dedicatedly work towards decolonising the discipline of history.
