Pint of Science
Join us in a worldwide science festival where we share our latest findings at local pubs!
On 10/05/2022, the Hearing Research Group joined the Pint of Science Team at the 91Ö±²¥ Tap pub to talk about "The Sound of Science: Research VS Hearing Loss". We gave an overview of how our laboratory uses multiple approaches to study the physiology of hearing and to understand the mechanisms underpinning hearing deficits, leading up to our research to develop gene therapy strategies to restore hair cell function and hearing. The audience was extremely engaged and asked about the possibility of using gene therapy in the context of age-related hearing loss, about the mechanisms behind tone deafness and about the research of other groups at 91Ö±²¥ using stem cells as a treatment strategy.
Here is an image of our very own Postdoctoral Researcher, Dr Francesca De Faveri giving the talk.
