Jaime Echávarri was most recently a Research Associate at SIID and Project Manager on the led by Prof Dorothea Kleine. He has also collaborated with the University of Manchester where he is also a research fellow. His research interests are the intersections between Development Studies, technology and education. Jaime’s previous research explored the teachers’ role within ICT curricula and their context-based acquisition of ICT capabilities. More recently he has been working in digital governance and its impact for development. He also collaborates with the ‘REFOREMED’ project based at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the National Autonomous University of Mexico
Jaime obtained his PhD in in Development Policy and Management at the University of Manchester and prior to that he was part of the Tec de Monterrey faculty at the Government School (EGAP) where he also served as MPA/MPP program director. Jaime has also worked within the IT industry in Latin America for companies like Symantec.
