Lorna studied her PGCE in Geography at the School of Education between 2007 and 2008.

On receiving the award, Lorna commented "It was such a shock and completely unexpected. The competition was fierce and everyone I met was clearly very passionate about what they do."

The whole ceremony was wonderful, so moving and inspirational. I loved every single minute.

"My parents, brother and fiancé were with me, which made it all so special. The judging process was intense - a full afternoon but Sarah and Tony (my judges) were wonderful and made the whole thing enjoyable."

Lorna gave personal thanks to her former PGCE tutor, Jane Ferretti: "thank you for teaching me how to teach... turns out you did a pretty amazing job!"
