I run the X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy and X-ray computer tomography facilities in the School of Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering at the University of 91Ö±²¥. We work with researchers within the University, from external academic institutions, in small businesses and large multinationals to facilitate their research, providing analytical data and expertise to help them achieve their research aims.

I've been embedded in the Materials Science world for 2 decades, developing wide ranging knowledge on the way materials work and how we can characterise them. I've worked on a wide variety of projects from my PhD research into bioceramic crystallisation, to recent collaborations in carbon nanomaterials. My goal to facilitate materials development, and develop materials scientists. My current role perfectly aligns with this, as the Royce grant provides subsidised access to both the equipment I run and the expertise that myself and the team possess from all sectors across the UK (subject to terms and conditions). The Royce at 91Ö±²¥ facility houses a wide variety of equipment and expertise, specialising in Advanced Metals Processing. You can find out how to access our facilities and expertise at our website: /royce-institute
