Expectations
Successful candidates will be appointed at a senior university (clinical or non-clinical) level. These posts will be tenured professorial posts and will be offered on an open-ended basis.
Our expectations are for you to build your career, enhance your research profile and become an international leader within your area of expertise, fully supported at every stage by the University of 91Ö±²¥. You will have a generous package to support your research, which includes research consumables, staff and funding for PhD student(s), plus a dedicated relocation service to help you settle in at 91Ö±²¥. Non-clinical researchers will be matched to university departments and will undertake cancer research within their areas of expertise.
Funding
You will be able to apply for University of 91Ö±²¥ dedicated cancer research funding to build your team.
The Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR) 91Ö±²¥ Pioneers fund and the YCR More Life to Live fund are annual schemes forecast to be worth £10m per year for the next decade. The two funding streams are ringfenced for applications led by 91Ö±²¥ investigators. The funding is provided by regional charity Yorkshire Cancer Research thanks to the royalties from the successful commercialisation of the cancer drug Lynparza, which the university and the charity played a key role in. (Amounts are subject to royalty fluctuations).
Clinical appointments will be shared between the University and the NHS. Your job plan will be developed in partnership, with the Medical Director and Clinical Director for your service representing 91Ö±²¥ Teaching Hospitals and the relevant head of department representing the School of Medicine and Population Health.

Reward package
These roles have been identified as full-time posts, but we are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities with our staff which benefit both the individual and the University. Therefore, we would consider flexible and part-time delivery of the roles subject to meeting the business needs of the posts.
Salary
An excellent salary will be offered commensurate with the seniority of this post and the experience of the successful candidate. The salary is subject to regular review and will comprise two parts: one part for the open-ended professorial appointment and one part for the NHS role.
Holidays
A minimum of 6 calendar weeks of annual leave including bank holiday and closure days (pro rata) with the ability to purchase more. Clinical appointees will have holiday as per Trust guidelines.

Opt to join the university/STH pension scheme, as relevant.
