Description

This event aims to connect a multidisciplinary group of researchers with an interest in the experience of rare cancers. The goal is to bring together academics from across the University, including those with clinical interests in rare cancers as well as academics from disciplines who do not normally work in this field. For example, disciplines relating to the built environment where there may be a cancer risk such as architecture, disciplines relating to social and political science, and humanities such as history and literature.

The event will be run by the Mesothelioma UK Research Centre in collaboration with colleagues at Weston Park Hospital with expertise in rare cancers.

The event will be a multidisciplinary ‘think tank’ focusing on enhancing patient and family experience and voice in rare cancers. The session is part of a programme of events developed for the fifth theme of the University cancer research strategy on enhancing patient experience and voice, co-led by Stefania Vicari and Dr Catriona Mayland.
