Description

Fresh air, lovely countryside, good company – it just makes you happy!  Walking is one of the best ways to improve your physical, mental and spiritual health.

The BNBR Life Centre walks take place every few weeks in semester time.  Our walks are typically about 3 hours, plus travelling time by public transport.  All walks are free, sign-up using our .   Please keep an eye out for upcoming dates!

You need to bring your student ID and some money for the transport.

What to bring:  Suitable footwear (sturdy trainers or walking shoes), warm and waterproof clothing (important - the weather can change any time in this country!), student ID & money for public transport, drink & a snack for the way.

Do it yourself!

Why not try one of our walks yourself especially on this walk to Win Hill, you really cannot get lost: it is simply uphill all the way, and then downhill all the way in a loop towards Ladybower Reservoir.  Alternatively, from the same starting point head uphill on the other side of the A6013 near Heatherdene Carpark (which has public facilities!), once you are on the top, turn right and walk along Bamford Edge, with its stunning views over the valleys and Ladybower Reservoir. Then turn back on the same track; or drop down to Bamford, and take the bus back from there.  To check the latest bus timetable, go to: , and click on Timetables, where you can check the times for the 256 and 257 buses, which both go along the A57 from Western Bank near the Octagon Centre (student day return tickets are £3.50).
