We're excited to be launching three masters programmes this year; MA Archaeology, MA Heritage & Archaeology and MSc Archaeological Science. They offer new opportunities for our international community of Masters students to study archaeological science, bioarchaeology and heritage, and they maintain our strengths in teaching material culture analysis, landscape and environmental archaeology, and the archaeology of the classical Mediterranean.
Archaeology masters courses
Departmental Director of Postgraduate Taught Studies, Dr Bob Johnston, tells us more; "We've decided to organise the new courses with specialist pathways. This structure offers students the flexibility to follow either general programmes (Archaeology, Archaeological Science, Heritage and Archaeology) or focus on specialisms (such as Bioarchaeology or Managing the Historic Environment). Students can decide which route to take beforehand or once they have started their programme."
The programmes will suit students who aspire to careers in research, professional archaeology and heritage management. Depending on the programme, students can choose our innovative journal-style dissertations and extended work placements. All three new programmes are available for full-time and part-time study.
