Did you graduate in the last 15 years? Do you want to inspire and help students with their career choices? Then we’re looking for you!
What is Coach Café?
Coach Café is a programme of online networking events taking place across the University.
We’re looking for alumni like you to volunteer as Coaches at these events. Share your valuable experiences and advice with current students to set them up for success in their careers. Places are prioritised for students from underrepresented backgrounds.
Your advice and experiences will:
- Build students knowledge and awareness of different job roles
- Increase their confidence, aspirations and professional networking skills
- Develop new skills and attributes to help them progress early on in their career
What’s Involved?
- Run 15 minute sessions on Zoom with small groups of students
- Share your advice with students, talk about your experiences of navigating the world of work and answer their questions
- Finish with an informal online networking session with all of the alumni and students
- Make connections and build your global network
How to Apply?
If you’re interested in volunteering as an Alumni Coach, please sign up for the event happening in the Faculty you graduated from.

I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the coach café session. For me, it was the perfect opportunity to reflect on how I have reached the position I am currently in, tracing my career journey back to graduation, whilst (hopefully) providing some useful insights on how I navigated the transition from the education system to being part of the workforce.

The Alumni to Alumni Coach Café offers recent graduates the chance to gain valuable advice focused on those all important first steps after university. This event is open to alumni from all faculties.
